The Ferrari 512M is one of the most underrated yet most refined twelve cylinder Ferraris ever built. While the name Testarossa instantly evokes an iconic image for many, the F512M represents the ultimate and final chapter of this legendary lineage. Only 501 examples were produced, making it rarer than many modern Ferrari limited editions. This was not a marketing driven model, but a pure technical high point, created at the end of an era when Ferrari was still entirely analog in character.
What makes the F512M so special is the combination of raw V12 emotion with subtle yet carefully engineered improvements. The naturally aspirated 4.9 liter flat twelve produces 440 horsepower and feels noticeably sharper and more alive than its predecessors. Ferrari managed to reduce weight, improve aerodynamics, and further refine the chassis. The open headlights, unique to the F512M within the Testarossa family, give it a more aggressive and at the same time more classic appearance. The interior is luxurious yet functional, with that unmistakable 1990s Ferrari character where leather, aluminum, and mechanical involvement take center stage.
To truly understand the F512M, you have to look back at the history of the F512TR series. The original Testarossa of the 1980s became a cultural icon, famous for its wide hips, side strakes, and uncompromising presence. In 1991, Ferrari introduced the F512TR, transforming the model into a more technically mature machine. The chassis became stiffer, weight distribution improved, and engine output increased to 428 horsepower. The car became noticeably sharper and more confidence inspiring to drive, without losing its impressive grand touring character.
The F512M was the definitive evolution that followed. Not an entirely new model, but a final perfection created by engineers who knew exactly what this car needed to be. The result is a Ferrari that is less outspoken than its predecessors, yet precisely because of that feels more timeless and purer. For many connoisseurs, this is the best driving Testarossa ever built.
Today, the Ferrari F512M is increasingly recognized as a modern classic. Originally delivered in Germany, this car is equipped with extremely rare options, including the original carbon racing bucket seats with racing harnesses, electrically adjustable windows, an original fire extinguisher, and 512M floor mats.
Reportedly, this is one of only 16 examples worldwide delivered with original carbon bucket seats. The most recent service was carried out in November 2025, making it fully ready for its next owner.
