The Ferrari SA Aperta was announced at the Paris International Motor Show in 2010 and continued Ferrari’s tradition of creating limited edition open top V12 grand tourers, following cars such as the 550 Barchetta and the 575 Superamerica. Only eighty examples were to be produced and all eighty had already been sold by the time the car was publicly revealed.

Although the SA Aperta was built using the chassis and drivetrain of the 599 GTO, Ferrari intended it to have a softer personality than the GTO, which was meant to be a road legal version of the 599XX. The windscreen received a steeper angle and behind the roll hoops two aerodynamic fins were added, reminiscent of the flying buttresses on the standard 599 GTB. Both the suspension and the exhaust system are less aggressive than on the 599 GTO, making the car significantly more comfortable for long distance touring.

Presented in a truly stunning combination of Rosso Corsa over a Nero leather and alcantara interior, this 599 SA Aperta is equipped with a number of desirable exterior options including Scuderia shields, Rosso Corsa brake calipers, carbon side skirts, carbon mirrors and carbon headlight surrounds. Inside, there is again an abundance of carbon options such as the carbon steering wheel with LED shift lights, carbon racing seats and a carbon centre console.

Furthermore, this SA Aperta is exceptionally well documented with its original books, two keys, a car cover, a canvas soft top and the Ferrari Redbook Classiche Certificate.

For the dedicated collector or the emerging one, the SA Aperta is highly interesting as it holds the same CRM ranking as the F40, classified as Supercar SP02.
