Pagani Huayra Roadster BC
The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC is one of the most extraordinary creations to emerge from the mind of Horacio Pagani. When it was unveiled in 2019, it immediately became clear that this was far more than just an open-top version of the Huayra. Pagani viewed the Roadster BC as a completely new chapter, one in which engineering, design and art merge at the highest possible level. The initials BC refer to Benny Caiola, the Italian investor and close friend of Horacio Pagani who bought the very first Pagani ever produced and supported the brand from its earliest days. The Roadster BC is a tribute to him, and that emotional significance resonates in every meticulously crafted detail.
The Roadster BC is built using the most advanced materials available at the time. Pagani developed a new carbon-fibre architecture specifically for this model: Carbo-Titanium HP62 and Carbo-Triax HP62. These materials allowed the car to become not only lighter, but also significantly stronger. Despite its open-top structure, the Roadster BC possesses greater torsional rigidity than the coupé, an achievement rarely accomplished. Every screw, every panel, and every piece of carbon fibre has been designed as if it were a work of art. The result is a hypercar weighing just 1,250 kilograms, an astonishing figure for a machine powered by a massive V12.
That engine is the AMG-built 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12, specially developed for Pagani and tuned in this configuration to deliver 802 hp and 1,050 Nm of torque. Its sound is raw, mechanical and yet beautifully melodic—as if an orchestra of metal instruments awakens the moment the revs climb. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a seven-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox, chosen deliberately to reduce weight and inertia rather than opting for a heavier dual-clutch transmission. The result is an uncompromising, razor-sharp and pure driving experience, exactly as Horacio intended.
Visually, the Roadster BC is immediately recognisable for its extreme aerodynamics. The large rear wing, deep front splitter and complex air-channeling structures are not only functional but sculptural. Airflow is managed so efficiently that the car generates up to 500 kilograms of downforce at speed. Yet despite its aggressive performance focus, the BC remains elegant: the body lines flow like an artwork, revealing countless details that only become visible upon close inspection. The titanium quad-pipe exhaust, arranged in Pagani’s signature cross pattern, remains one of the most iconic elements in the entire hypercar world.
The interior is an experience unlike anything else. While many manufacturers adopt minimalist designs, a Pagani cockpit is a celebration of craftsmanship and detail. Every instrument, switch and lever resembles the workings of a luxury timepiece. The use of leather, aluminium, carbon fibre and even wood in certain elements transforms the Roadster BC into not just a car to drive, but a piece of art to admire.
Only 40 examples of the Huayra Roadster BC were ever produced, making it one of the rarest Paganis. Each one was fully bespoke, tailored exactly to the wishes of its owner, ensuring that no two cars are the same. This reflects Horacio Pagani’s philosophy: his cars are not mass-produced products, but unique artworks crafted for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the absolute pinnacle of design and engineering.
The story of the Roadster BC is therefore not merely about a hypercar with breathtaking performance figures. It is above all a tribute to friendship, craftsmanship, and the relentless pursuit of pushing boundaries. It is a machine that embodies speed and power while also creating an emotional connection between art, technology and human passion.
